Sprout — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026
Sprout ("the app", "we", "us") helps you identify and care for plants. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with. By using Sprout you agree to this policy.
What we collect
- Plant photos you capture or choose. Photos are uploaded to our backend and sent to an AI service to analyze the plant's species and health.
- Plant & care data you create in the app — nicknames, growth stage, care tasks, check-ins, and progress.
- An anonymous account. On first launch we create an anonymous account so your garden is saved across sessions. We do not require your name, email, or phone number, and there is no sign-in.
- Basic technical data needed to run the service (e.g. app errors, timestamps).
We do not collect your real identity, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers.
How we use it
- To analyze your plant photos and generate care guidance.
- To save and sync your garden, journey, tasks, and progress.
- To operate, secure, and improve the app.
Who we share it with (service providers)
- Supabase — stores your account, plant data, and photos in private storage.
- Google (Gemini API) — receives your plant photo plus a little context to produce the analysis you requested.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Data retention & deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and its associated photos and records, contact us at the email below and we will remove them.
Children
Sprout is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
